[u12] Ball Boy vs Assistant Ref

Like myself, you all aspire to be a ball boy, or assistant referee someday.

Be the dork that chases balls on the side of the field, like I did this past
Sunday.

 

Those who were paying attention, the referee scolded me for causing a play
stoppage, for calling a bad throw in against a player.

 

I looked this situation up in the rules.  It was the proper for the ref to
put me in my place.

 

The assistant referee, can do no more than notify the ref that an infraction
occurred.

This is done using the flag, an assistant ref carries.

 

It is up to the referee to take the assistant refs word, and penalize the
player.
