  Greetings U-12ers,

Today is August 21st, 5 days left before we will be knocking the ball around on Tuesday 26th at 6:00.

This year we will be playing 11 vs 11 on a much bigger field than what we have played on in the past for most of the gals. Some of you have probably being active over summer vacation, but the question that comes to mind is are you ready to run for 60 minutes on the soccer field? You have a few days left of summer vacation left before we go back to school and start training for our 2008 season.

Once school starts you will be very busy with schoolwork, homework, soccer practice twice a week plus games on Sundays). Some of you will be involved in even more things. To help you succeed in school (which is the most important thing) and have enough energy to run a full 60 minutes on the soccer field, I suggest you start running 10 - 20 minutes and keep doing so throughout the season. This conditioning will help you not only on the field but make your fitter for the classroom.

We will be having two contests on Tuesday. One is a juggling contest and the other is a surprise. So get out your soccer balls, pump them up, and we'll see who can win the juggling challenge.

Here is a hint for the other surprise (if you are in shape you will have a better chance of winning)

  See you soon,

  Coach Piergallini
