Hey U12 Gang -
Just a quick reminder that we don't have a game this weekend.
A couple of things that I wanted to mention... WBSC is in dire need of certified refs. Are any of you... or do any of you know someone who may be interested in becoming a ref. It pays pretty well and you are able to get some exercise at each and every game. If so, you or they should touch base w/ Abe Stauffer. He is trying to get a ref course put together this summer.
Also - please review the note below from Abe reagarding this seasons games and practices from our teams coaches and families. I am always willing to take any help I can get w/ lining the fields, remove trash, etc.
We also have to commit some time to the concession stand this year. I will try to find out what days we need help from Janell Myers. I will forward the dates our teams is scheduled in a later email.
Any questions please drop me a line.
Enjoy your weekend. See you Tuesday for practice
Fred

Subject: some reminders
Coaches,
Just some reminders about WBSC now that we are into our season:
* Make sure you put corner flags out before every game
* the team that plays the last game should return the corner flags to the paint shed and lock it. If you do not know where the key is ask me or someone who knows
* There should be a trash can between the team benches. Please empty it in the dumpster if it is more than half full. Also, move it a bit so it does not kill the grass after sitting in the same spot for a few days.
* If you use an extra goal for a 2 goal practice or short sided play, please move the goal off the field so it does not have to be moved before a game. ALso, make sure both game goals are in the correct spot
* It is a team's responsibility to line the field. A team with a home game that Sunday should line the field. Thursday at practice is good. Or doing it Friday or Saturday also works, or even an hour before the game.
* If no one has a home game on any given week, the lines still might need to be painted as the grass is growing rapidly now that we have warm weather, fertilizer, and rain!
* Make sure you get your player passes back from the ref after each game, especially at away games
* remember to send in your scores promptly after each game: the winning team should do this, the home team in event of a tie.
For home games: attached are directions to our fields and a Mapquest address that you can email to your opponent.
And lastly, as all of us do, keep showing good sportsmanship and respect to opponents and referees. If your parents are too vocal towards the ref please educate them how difficult it is to be a ref and how hard it is to maintain young refs.
Some of this I should have sent earlier, but time is an issue. May you have continued good luck!
yours in soccer,
Abe
