It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that on 3 December 2006
MARRC Member #88 Leonard Bacon passed away in his sleep. A charter
member of the Mid-Atlantic Roadracing Club, Len rarely missed a race
weekend at Summit Point Raceway, and was awarded a life membership in
1999 recognition of his years of unswerving dedication to the club.
Whether working a corner, driving Roadrash (and its successor, BAT) to
the scene of a cleanup, helping set up and take down materials at the
track, or promoting MARRC at bike shows and the like, Len was always
there for us. In recent years he became equally famous for his golf-cart
transport as for his skill at wielding a knife while helping the Cafe
Crew prepare our meals. His can-do spirit and stamina, not to mention
his joke-telling prowess, were an inspiration. He will be greatly
missed, and the MARRC family won't be the same without him.

Information on the services and the family's wishes follow.

Viewings will be held on Sunday, 10 December from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8
p.m. at:

The memorial service will be at 12 noon on Monday, 11 December at the
Demaine Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at 2 pm at:
