Hello,
My name is Jacqueline Payne. I am currently a full time student at GA State
University planning to earn a B.S. in Public Policy with a concentration in
economic development. I am 20 years old and began as a music education major
in fall of 2006. I was forced to change my major after having an adverse
reaction to the pertussis vaccine where I developed hypo tension and a
seizure disorder. Because I did not suffer through major surgery or death I
am unable to get compensation from the vaccine compensation fund set up by
the government. However, Going through rehab and dropping out of school
really made it hard for me to fund my education. I am looking for an
opportunity to get back on my feet again and take some of the struggle away
from the cost of college.
I would like more information on how to apply for support from the Hacker
foundation fund. As government funding for education recedes, the cost of
college takes up a greater percentage of total income making it a struggle
for many people, including myself to balance out the most basic needs in an
effort to afford an education. I have been searching for scholarships, and
found this wonderful opportunity provided by this foundation.
thanks,
Jacqueline Payne
