We suggest that you make you answer immediately below each question directly
within this Rich Text Format document, then either e-mail as an attachment
or paste in-line to info at hackerfoundation.org
Project Name: Wargaming.org
Involved persons (Project roles if applicable): Josh Rundle(Zod) head
organizer, owner of hardware, pays the bills, systems administrator,
Asterisk programming, Josh(O-day) Head of web development, systems
administrator, Fiftysixer, web developer
Date: 12/12/2007
Project Brief:
(In this space, give a 100-200 word brief statement of what your project
does and why it does it. In corporate terms, what's your "pitch"?)
Wargaming.org is a collective of projects geared toward computer and
technology enthusiasts. There are several aspects to our community, wicked
radio www.wickedradio.org low power distributed FM and internet radio
station, Galactic Bell www.galacticbell.com Free voice of ip technology and
service, The main wargaming.org website and servers for hacker based game
play and innovation.
Project Goals:
(Give a complete list of the project's goals and how you intend to achieve
them.)
As a whole the goals are to educate as many people as possible to what
computer hacking is really all about, and to let people have hands on real
world experience, while at the same time providing a community for seasoned
computer and technology enthusiasts a place to develop freely, share ideas,
and play simulated war games on our network. Galactic Bell is in planning to
become a social networking site with similiar features of myspace and
facebook but built around voice over internet technology. This part of our
community will be ad based for the most part or from member donations.
Wicked Radio is does what it does very well, in short it is just a simple
pirate radio station that grew into what some would say an icon in pirate
radio history.
Resource Requirements:
(Give a specific, prioritized list of goods and services and other resources
you believe would be required for your project, and approximate price
estimates for these requirements. For example, do you need to obtain a
dedicated workspace to hold your project? Do you require dedicated hosting?
Do you need persons with certain expertise that are currently unavailable to
you?)
Dedicated hosting with at minimum an OC10 connection to support the high
bandwidth usage from the VOIP network which would average about 1000$ USD a
month, we also need to hire some specialized programmers to help ties all
the projects together and to really set the pace to completing the
application part of the project. I cannot put a price tag on that.
Resources Available:
(Give a specific list of goods and services and other resources that are
immediately available to you. Include "intangibles" such as expertise,
persons with special skills who are willing to donate time to the project,
and other unique resources you believe would be valuable.)
Shared hosting with midphase.com on oc3 and oc10 connections, 4 dedicated
machines on site, 4 developers
What other projects have you or do you intend to work with?
None
Are there other projects doing something similar to what you're doing now?
not that we could find on google.com
Are there other projects whose model you intend to emulate in some way?
